Bio
born in 1970 in Stuttgart, Germany; settles in Paris at the age of 19; at the Sorbonne-Nouvelle, takes classes in drama and Franco-German studies; works as a language teacher and translator. Moves to Great Britain; studies art in London and Norwich; sets up studio in Paris, continues drawing classes. In the following years, works as a radio producer, a speaker and as an extra in film; teaches German at École du Louvre and Lycée Louis-le-Grand. Signs as the director’s assistent and art director of Joel Cano’s Siete días Siete noches. Receives various grants and travels to work in Cuba, Ireland (Cork, Sculpture Factory, map programme/Pépinières pour jeunes artistes), Austria (Graz, European Forum for Emerging Creation), Germany (Weimar, ACC European Studio Programme), India (New-Delhi/Kolkata, Artists-in-Residence, French Embassy), as well as in New York and Québec, Canada (Centre d'Artistes Vaste-et-Vague, Carleton). Exhibits in solo and group shows in these countries; interventions in public space; fictional and theoretical writing. Lives for a while in Marseille; conceives and realizes the stage design for Résidence Secondaire, by Company Christophe Haleb.
On New Year’s Day 2007, settles in Berlin. First international grantee, in 2012, of the residency programme at Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Gas Natural Fenosa, in A Coruña, Northern Spain. Moves to Leipzig in late 2014. Participates, in 2016, in Textwerkstatt Darmstadt and receives his first grant for literature, the MERCK-Stipendium. Guest auditor at DLL/Deutsches Literaturinstitut Leipzig, in 2016/2017.
